Brownsville Rd. to Dillon Reservoir

The Day Trip.
This trip begins at the 668/Brownsville Road bridge and ends at the Sportsman Center Boat Ramp. This trip tours all of the Licking River from The Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve to the Northern end of Dillon Reservoir. River conditions for the lower section may require paddling as some areas can be slower moving. This trip is very popular with birdwatchers, as the species you will encounter in the upper marsh area and around the islands of Dillon Reservoir can be very diverse.
This trip is roughly 3-5 hours depending on your effort paddling! Once you reach the flatwater, hug the right hand bank. Watch for the old “tow path” man made straight as an arrow shore line, there will be a small cut large enough for a couple yaks to slip into the bay at a time. Large protected shallow bay with good fishing certain times of year, explore it a bit if you like! Your almost there…just around the bend you’ll find the boat ramp waiting for you on the right!
Departures available for the Day Trip: Monday – Friday 8:00am to Noon
Saturday and Sunday 8:00am to 2:00pm
